What to Do When Nothing Seems to Work

What to Do When Nothing Seems to Work - Tyrone Singh

What to Do When Nothing Seems to Work

I’ve had seasons in my walk with God where no matter what I did, nothing seemed to move.

I prayed. I believed. I stepped out in faith.
But the doors stayed closed.
Things didn’t shift.
And it felt like heaven was silent.

Maybe you’re in a season like that right now.

Let me tell you something I’ve learned:
Just because nothing is happening on the outside doesn’t mean God isn’t working.

God is never inactive.
He is always working—often behind the scenes, in ways you cannot yet see.

God’s delays are not His denials.
If it hasn’t happened yet, it doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen.

1. Stand Firm in Faith

There are moments where your faith is tested—not by what you see, but by what you don’t see.

That’s where faith becomes real.

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” — 1 Corinthians 16:13

Faith is not based on results—it’s based on God’s Word.

I’ve learned this:
You don’t move because things are working—you move because God has spoken.

Even when nothing seems to change… stand.

2. Remember—God Is Still in Control

There is no delay, no setback, no situation that has caught God off guard.

He hasn’t lost control of your life.

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” — Exodus 14:14

Sometimes the greatest act of faith is not striving—it’s trusting.

You don’t have to figure everything out.
You just need to stay yielded to the One who already has.

3. Speak Life—Not Defeat

One of the biggest mistakes people make in difficult seasons is speaking what they feel instead of what God has said.

“I guess it’s not working.”
“Nothing ever changes.”
“It’s probably not for me.”

No.

That’s not faith—that’s agreement with the problem.

“Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’” — Joel 3:10

You may feel weak—but you don’t speak weakness.
You speak the Word.

Your voice should agree with God—not your circumstances.

4. Don’t Quit—Keep Going

I know what it feels like to get tired.
To feel like you’ve done everything right—and still nothing has changed.

But this is where many people miss it—they quit too early.

“Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” — Galatians 6:9

Notice that—you will reap… if you don’t quit.

That means your breakthrough is often on the other side of your persistence.

Keep going.
Keep believing.
Keep doing what God told you to do.

5. Trust God’s Timing

God doesn’t work on our schedule—He works on His perfect timing.

And I’ve learned this: when it finally comes together, you realise it couldn’t have happened any other way.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” — Ecclesiastes 3:11

Delay is not rejection.
Delay is preparation.

God is setting things in place—aligning people, timing, and purpose.

And when it happens, it will be right.

If you’re in a season where nothing seems to be working—don’t panic.

  • Stand.

  • Trust.

  • Speak.

  • Keep going.

Because God is not finished with your story.

Prayer

Father, I trust You—even when I don’t see results.
Strengthen my faith to stand firm.
Help me to speak Your Word, not my circumstances.
Teach me to trust Your timing and not give up.
I know You are working—even now.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
